Woodson says Shumpert won't be dealt

12:09 PM ET 02.13 | Many believe the New York Knicks need to add one more piece in order to win a championship. Many more believe that in order to acquire that piece the Knicks would have to part with second-year guard Iman Shumpert. Knicks' fans can take some comfort in the fact that head coach Mike Woodson appears to have put an end to the Shumpert trade rumors for now, by saying that the team will not be trading Shumpert by the Feb. 21 trade deadline. Woodson made the statement while appearing on ESPN New York 98.7 FM on Tuesday. When asked by co-host Stephen A. Smith if Shumpert would be in a Knicks uniform after the Feb. 21 trade deadline, Woodson said, "You got it. I don't need to say anymore." That's quite the change in stance for Woodson in less than a week. Early last week he had tried to help Shumpert shake off the trade rumors, but couldn't go as far as saying that the Georgia Tech product wouldn't be dealt.
