Trade talks heating up for Ryan O'Reilly

03:11 PM ET 02.13 | The Colorado Avalanche have begun exploring trade options for restricted free agent forward Ryan O'Reilly. After news broke on Tuesday night that discussions might start to pick up, Darren Dreger of TSN reported that the Avalanche have already begun receiving interest and that talks were heating up. As was the case on Tuesday night, Dreger reiterated that Colorado would like to send O'Reilly to the Eastern Conference, if they are to move him. On Wednesday morning, Dreger tweeted that the team had received considerable interest from Eastern Conference teams for the young forward. It is believed that the Avalanche would require a roster player and top prospect in return for O'Reilly. If they do not receive that, they will hold onto him and force him to sit out until they do.
