Machida believes winner of his bout with Henderson deserves title shot

04:13 PM ET 02.13 | Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida is set to face former PRIDE middleweight and welterweight champion Dan Henderson. No matter who gets their way, Machida told the media Tuesday he believes the winner of the bout is in line to get the title shot. "I believe, out of this fight, whoever wins should definitely be the contender for the title. If we're number one and number two then the title shot should definitely be on the line in this fight," Machida said. As of now, UFC President Dana White has said Alexander Gustafsson will get the title shot nod should he get past Gegard Mousasi in April. The fight between Henderson and Machida takes place on Feb. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
