Turkoglu suspended 20 games for using PEDs

07:25 PM ET 02.13 | Hedo Turkoglu said he accidentally took a banned substance while recovering from injuries in his native Turkey, but that came after the NBA suspended him on Wednesday for using an anabolic steroid. The Orlando Magic forward tested positive for methenolone and is suspended 20 games by the league. Turkoglu has played in just 11 games this year after he broke his hand in the season opener. Turkoglu, a 13-year NBA veteran, released a statement apologizing for the positive test. "While I was back home in Turkey this past summer, I was given a medication by my trainer to help recover more quickly from a shoulder injury," Turkoglu said in a statement released by the Magic. "I didn't know that this was a banned substance and didn't check before taking it."
