07:56 AM ET 02.14 | Occasionally given to curious references and inferences, Kevin Garnett opted for the straightforward approach. After Wednesday's 71-69 win over Chicago, Garnett caught many by surprise in declaring that this weekend's All-Star game would be his last as an NBA player. "This is definitely my last All-Star game," Garnett proclaimed. "Y'all don't know what I know. Put it like this, I'm more than grateful for going (to the All-Star game). I'm not gonna act like I got more All-Star games in me or whatever." ... With two years left, does that mean KG plans to call it quits after this season? Or is it his way of acknowledging that at the age of 36, he doesn't foresee himself playing at a level high enough next season?

You discount what KG has done in a relatively short time for the Celtics;
made them champions and (more importantly) gave them an identity.

So having them deal with an aging KG in the twilight of his years is a VERY small price to pay, considering.

It's rediculous that he's a starter this year.

If Garnett is the starting forward that says the East doesn't have popular forwards. I am not knocking it but the fans have spoken and the votes says he is popular. Also Stern changed the votes to 3 Forward's as to two Forward's and a Center. This also tells you about the state of centers in the league and the east
