02:02 PM ET 02.14 | In a sad but inspiring story, Toledo defensive lineman Ben Pike has announced that he is giving up football to help care for his fiancee, who is stricken with leukemia. Pike has one year of eligibility remaining, but plans to leave school when he graduates in May and move to St. Louis to help his fiancee Ashley Barrett, a former Toledo basketball player, through the treatment process. It's sad whenever someone has to give up the sport they love before they want to, but Pike's dedication during a difficult time is nothing if not inspiring.
