02:58 PM ET 02.14 | Just over a month ago, Robert Griffin III was writhing in pain on the ground at FedEx Field with a torn ACL and LCL. Now, Redskins officials are so encouraged with his recovery that they say he has a "legitimate chance" to line up as the starting quarterback for the 2013 season opener, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. While RGIII still has a long way to go before he is near ready, he has been rehabbing aggressively since undergoing surgery. Despite how early it is in the process, the Redskins are pleased with the progress they've seen from RGIII, who recently returned to Washington to continue his rehab.

Hopefully this is just another press release to boost ticket sales and/or fan interest in an otherwise boring time of the year for football news.
