Lubick holding CSU grudge

Sonny Lubick will help raise money for numerous cancer and medical charities in the near future, but the former Colorado State football coach will not raise a dime for the athletic department. After the messy departure, Lubick hinted he had no interest staying around CSU. After numerous public announcements by athletic director Paul Kowalczyk that the state of the Rams' football program would be discussed after the season, Kowalczyk told Lubick he was being let go days before the season finale. As a natural extension of his coaching duties, Lubick acted as the department's chief fundraiser during his tenure.

CSU doesn't really expect him to pull money in for them after they shanked him like that, do they?

Funny they loved him a few years ago. Who does CSU think they are Michigan or USC ? They should maybe just put more money in the program and get more results. Lubick was a hot commodity a few years ago and probably is still a good coach.

Sonny, You are a class act. I miss running into you at the 7-11 in the early mornings. CSU will miss you and I fear the program will fall back to the dismall pre-sonny days.

they play football in colorado?

He should just walk away from the school and never look back they way they backstabbed the best coach the team ever had

January 31, 2008  11:56 PM ET

CSU should be ashamed of themselves and the AD should be fired for his treatment of Sonny. Coach Lubick did more for CSU and Fort Collins than anybody ever has at CSU.

Sonny is a class act.

CSU will never be the same. Long Live Sonny!

Fairchild maned up this year. All this tear jerking for a guy to prideful and selfish to understand he was past his prime coaching wise. Yes hes a legend, but him and his good old boys coaching staff had become a plauge on the team.
