06:15 PM ET 02.14 | Indiana Pacers wing Paul George will make his first All-Star appearance this weekend, and the third-year pro is making sure to credit those who've helped him quickly establish himself in the league. George played at Fresno State and grew up watching the Los Angeles Lakers, and he told USA Today that much of his improvements are thanks to help from Indiana assistant coach Brian Shaw, the former Lakers point guard who has developed a relationship with the 22-year-old George. Shaw, who took his current position before the 2011-12 season, said he began to see George's potential while watching film during the lockout. "When he got here (after the lockout), I immediately noticed his size and his ability to defend and he had all the tools, the footwork," Shaw told USA Today. "It was just a matter of getting his confidence up."

QUOTE(#3):

MVP? Wow.

He's good, but not that good...

MVP has (or should have) nothing to do with being "good". It should be about what the name states....."Most VALUABLE Player".

And how do you determine "Value"? IMO, you look at where the team is now.....versus......where the team would be if they didn't have that player. Using that criteria, the best player will not always be the MOST valuable.

Maybe they should have two awards......the MVP, and The Player of the Year.

Great upcoming player, who will give the Heat fits. And I live in Miami. The biggest hurdle for the Heat this year will be the Pacers.
