08:05 AM ET 02.15 | Though a Thursday report suggested Chiefs head coach Andy Reid would be interested in reuniting with Nick Foles, K.C. fans may not want to get ahead of themselves. [League sources] have told CSNPhilly.com's Reuben Frank that the Eagles have no plans to trade Foles, unless they're blown away by an offer. The Eagles have made quality deals in the past for their quarterbacks. Three times under Reid they traded a QB -- Kevin Kolb, Donovan McNabb and A.J. Feeley -- and each time they acquired a second-round pick. For Kolb, they also received cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and they also got a fourth-round pick in the McNabb deal. The Eagles now have four quarterbacks on their roster, having signed Dennis Dixon to a two-year deal on Monday.

Then why exactly are they keeping him? Foles doesn't fit the offense and they just picked up Dixon who had over 60% completion percentage under Chip Kelly.

Why would Andy Reid want Foles? He needs a starter, not a backup. He's already got 3 backups.

Foles showed enough last year to be given a shot to prove if he has what it takes or not. Hopefully they don't trade him because as it stands he's the best QB on the Eagles roster. Which fair enough, isn't saying too much.
The kid is far from a track star, but he's big, has a fairly strong arm, pretty decent accuracy and most importantly seemed to be smart enough to see plays develop last year. I like what I've seen out of the kid and think he'll be a pretty decent starter in the league.

Foles played pretty well for the Iggles last year, and given Vick's history of injuries, this kind of seems like a 'well Duh' story. Sorry, Chiefs fans, but I think Andy has some Karma payback coming as he desperately tries to trade for a new QB.

KC should go big and try to acquire Alex Smith, or maybe go medium and try for Matt Flynn. Foles strikes me as a someone with very high potential but who is still in the developing stages. With him at KC, the Chiefs would still be in a rebuilding process, and there is more pressure there to win now.

Reid will be successful with the Chiefs. He will have more say in personnel decisions.

Flynn would be a perfect fit as he is proficient in running the west coast offense.

My prediction is Vick will get knocked out in the first or second game, Foles will become Dixon's backup

Dixon is a career backup.

Don't get me wrong, Reid is a huge upgrade in coaching for the Chefs, and there is a lot of talent on that team. I think Reid had a lot of say in what happened in Philly and he's screwed over teams that took fliers on his 'emerging' QB's. Nothing wrong with it, this is a Big Boy League. Now that he's the one looking for a QB, however, I think he's going to find out that these almost stars are just that. Almost.

Dixon couldn't make it as a backup in Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Maybe he is a system QB who hasn't found the right system. Reuniting with Kelley could be just the thing for both of them.

Not buying Dixon/Kelly one second. How'd that work out for Shane Matthews and that other guy (Wuerfuel I think) when Spurrier came to the skins? Can't revive the NCAA glory years in the pros.

McNabb aside, the second pick on the first round in 1999, what QB did Reid ever draft or trade for that amounted to diddly bop? If KC is smart, cough cough, they will let anybody but Reid pick the next QB there.

Reid didn't have the final say concerning draft picks in Philly. He will in KC.

It's not really what they amounted to but what they did under him. Aside from McNabb, there was AJ Feeley who played well enough under Reid to garner a 2nd rd Draft pick from MIA when they traded him. Same for Kolb. Jeff Garcia also put up some big numbers after having become a journeyman back up after leaving SF.
While they guys he drafts may not do anything once they leave, he does seem to have a way historically of getting the most out of his QB's.
