Interest building in Eric Gordon

08:05 AM ET 02.15 | Would New Orleans trade Eric Gordon? With the trade deadline just a week away, there's plenty of talking going on around the league. Most of the discussions will lead to nothing, and much of what you hear as a reporter is not worthy of a full-fledged story. But scuttlebutt is interesting nonetheless and can give you an idea of what teams are thinking and what they might seek to do in the future. ... We all know [Gordon] wanted to sign with Phoenix last summer and many around the league believe he would still rather not be in New Orleans. That's prompted several clubs to call the Hornets about Gordon's availability. Those calls, in turn, led New Orleans to start calling around to gauge Gordon's trade value.

Please let the Bulls pass on this!!! and I actually really like Gordon! Pretty sure him and DRose are tight too (played AAU together), but I still don't like having two big contracts in my backcourt full of shaky knees.

The truth is Gordon is probably a top 5-7 SG in the NBA when healthy. That is a big WHEN.. With that comes hefty salary and with his injury risks I know a GM's will gamble on him. The teams that want him probably don't want to give up the players necessary to do the trade or don't have what the Hornets would want in return.

If Gordan wasn't pulling down $11-12 million, I'd say trade Butler and Hamilton for him!

Unless they got NO to take Booze-dawg.... that could be interesting. If I remember right Boozer has two seasons left on that contract after this one, he's still a very productive, good locker room guy, and would be a very valuable chip after next season (if I'm right about the contract)

Gordon wanted out last year but the Hornets kept him anyway. He is still young and has lots of potential. His health is an issue but many teams will take a chance on him. The Hornets, if they move him, may start to be just a collection of young guys with talent but going nowhere.
