08:07 AM ET 02.15 | The 2014 NBA All-Star Game is already locked in for New Orleans, but it could come down to the Knicks vs. the Nets for the right to host it in 2015. NBA officials say New York's two teams are among several cities to have formally submitted bids to host All-Star weekend in two years. According to the NBA, no decision has been made on where the game will be played, and there will be no announcement on the winner this weekend. The Knicks last hosted All-Star weekend in 1998, while the only time the game was hosted by the Nets was in 1982 at the Meadowlands. The Garden spent nearly $1 billion to renovate the World's Most Famous Arena, in hopes that it will be able to land the NBA's midseason showcase event. But Brooklyn also wants the game.

As a non-New Yorker I gotta agree. If I'm in NY for one-night only and I'm given my pick, how do you not go see MSG? The history and nostalgia just can't be replicated.

Non topic. Rich people do not care where the game is hosted, they go regardless. Average joe does not care unless it is local to them. I have never seen msg or barclays but obviously the new building is going to be plusher than the older.
