03:49 PM ET 02.15 | Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford might have sustained a concussion, according to a report by Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times. Crawford did not practice on Friday and will not dress for the team's game on Friday night against the San Jose Sharks. The Blackhawks have not specifically identified what is keeping Crawford out of the contest and are labeling the injury as an "upper-body injury." However, head coach Joel Quenville identified the injury by saying there was no defining blow, which Lazerus believes indicates that Crawford was hit in the head and might have a concussion. Lazerus isolates a moment against the Anaheim Ducks when Crawford was hit by Ducks forward Bobby Ryan and then was hit in the head by the knee of defenseman Brent Seabrook.

They should leave him alone, he's been playing out of his head so far.

Maybe that's why he's playing the way he is. One game he thinks he's Tony Esposito, the next he thinks he's Dominik Hasek. Maybe tonight he'll thinking he's Glenn Hall? Mind you, tonight he doesn't have to, they're just playing the Sharks.

Seriously, they should not be fooling around with any suspected concussion....can anyone say
Natasha Richardson?
It might be a mild one this time, but another blow to the head could do permanent damage.

Natasha Richardson. Wasn't she Vanessa Redgrave's daughter? I remember her mother. Hell, we had poster spreads of that beauty all over the place. I've also known quite a few Natashas in my day but .... I don't know much about Natasha Richardson, other than she's dead.

Richardson died in 2009 following a head injury sustained when she fell during a skiing lesson in Quebec, Canada. Looks as though she was 45 at the time

She had a severe concussion (with internal bleeding) but she felt fine (a little shook up after the fall) and just went back to her room to rest....when she realized something was wrong, a few hours later, they rushed her to hospital where she died.....had she had it checked out immediately, she would have been saved.
Not all concussions go like this, but my point is, you need to take each one seriously.....one cannot fool around with a brain smack.
