Vikings will only trade Percy Harvin if they have to

07:40 PM ET 02.15 | It was reported last week that the Minnesota Vikings were actively trying to trade Percy Harvin, thus ridding themselves of the problem he's become. But while a trade of Harvin isn't out of the question, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman is saying publicly that the team has "no intent" to trade Harvin this offseason. No intent -- meaning they don't want to trade him but if they have to, they aren't going to say no. This is a similar trick being played by the Philadelphia Eagles in regards to quarterback Nick Foles. The Eagles want to trade him but they can't allow the other 31 teams in the NFL to know they want to dump him otherwise they won't get the maximum return for him. This is the exact situation the Vikings find themselves in at the moment with Harvin.

Why make contracts in the first place and get a better QB to throw him the ball too.

If he wants to be paid like a full time player of his caliber, then he needs to play full time. His Migraines and other health issues keep him from playing full time.

I sure want him back (healthy), otherwise take nothing less than a #1 as he's only 24, or in my dream scenario, trade for Fitzgerald. And a new OC.

Nobody else wants a headache, not for the kind of money he thinks he's worth!

Tough to trade with one year left on his contract. Then what does a team do? He is not worth tagging for two years.

You got it. He's a chancy player from game to game every year. Why would anyone else want this headache?

The Vikes have their backs against the wall with number 12, if you don't move him he will walk after next season unless you give him a long term deal. Percy has more minuses than pluses, head cast, injury pronged, and to many mingrans, the only plus is he is just 24.
