11:22 AM ET 02.16 | After the short-lived and ill-fated Titus Young experiment, it's back to the drawing board for the Rams at the wide receiver position. The Rams released Young on Friday, just nine days after the team claimed him off the waiver wire from Detroit. "We spent probably four or five days with him and as an organization -- at the end of the interview process, let's call it -- we decided it was best for us to go a different direction," Fisher said Friday. "We just felt that he was not the best option for us at that position. He's an outstanding young talent and we're gonna wish him well."

Trying to set the record for most bridges burned in a short career, I think.

Jeff Fischer has coached the likes of Cortland Finnegan and Albert Haynesworth. If he's giving up on Titus Young after nine days, that screams "buyer beware" to the rest of the teams in the league.

Titus is Gone, Fishing!!!!!!!

Some of these guys are unbelieveble. You can make millions of dollars; set yourself up for life; play in the high profile NFL.....but nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! You have a better plan that is going to end up with you working at the car wash. I think the colleges need to start offering a course for football & basketball players called "dont' be stupid 101".

Good point and don't forget that the Rams drafted Janoris Jenkins, a former Florida Gatror, that had trouble in college!!!

Some kids coming to a peo tean fir tge furst tune dib;t realize they are entering a new culture. It takes time to learn it and to adjust.

But there are some who are too impatient--and thus self-destruct. The Lions and the Rams have successfully worked with a lot of misfits over the years. But there are some who will not meet them even halfway. Unfortunately T. Young is one who seems to be saying, "It's my way or the highway." Okay, it's the highway. No brainer.

Exactly, Mel.

I guarantee - we are going to hear about this nut within the next 5 years doing something really, REALLY dumb and going to jail for it.

This explains the Rams main problem, it took them four days to figure this guy out.

Fisher has done this before. Old school (style) coach, teaching a lesson.

Good job, Jeff. Good luck (you're gonna need it), Mr. Young...
