Will new Browns owner become another Jerry Jones?

09:55 AM ET 02.17 | New Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is an aggressive, determined businessman. There is no reason to expect him to suddenly ignore the Browns. My concern was Haslam turning into Dallas owner Jerry Jones, not allowing his football people run the team. The fact that he's spending more time in Knoxville than Cleveland doesn't bother me. Why? Haslam made some rookie mistakes when taking over the team. First, he resigned from running Flying J/Pilot and said he was with the Browns, full-time. I don't know if the man he hired to run the family company (John Compton) struggled -- or if Haslam simply found he couldn't keep his hands off FlyingJ/Pilot because he has run it for so long. But it simply would have made more sense for him to wait a year before making such a dramatic career shift -- in case problems arose.
