Will new Browns owner become another Jerry Jones?

09:55 AM ET 02.17 | New Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is an aggressive, determined businessman. There is no reason to expect him to suddenly ignore the Browns. My concern was Haslam turning into Dallas owner Jerry Jones, not allowing his football people run the team. The fact that he's spending more time in Knoxville than Cleveland doesn't bother me. Why? Haslam made some rookie mistakes when taking over the team. First, he resigned from running Flying J/Pilot and said he was with the Browns, full-time. I don't know if the man he hired to run the family company (John Compton) struggled -- or if Haslam simply found he couldn't keep his hands off FlyingJ/Pilot because he has run it for so long. But it simply would have made more sense for him to wait a year before making such a dramatic career shift -- in case problems arose.

When you put out that kind of money, you'd expect an owner to be hands on. (In a Robert Kraft sort of way.)

This guy will need a few face lifts to catch up to Jerry.

Jones and Romo are the best at keeping Dallas away from the SB.

As long as Haslam has a GM and a VP of football in his employment, he will never be another Jerry Jones.

Or a Mike Brown.

The Plain Dealer is the local paper in Cleveland - and the Authority on the happening Cleveland Sports scene :-)

But this dude should know better... With the State of the Browns, Change might be good.

Jerry does the the Cowboys in the playoff Mix in December - can't say the Browns are in that boat.

I don't care who he acts like as long at the Brownies start to win. And the headline doesn't match the article too well.

Like stadiums? No wait a minute they get the taxpayers to buy those!

If ya got it, flaunt it. He has to deal with a salary cap, but not a booty cap. He's making two people very happy.
