11:03 AM ET 02.17 | The Sounders have an open designated-player slot on the roster and are looking to fill it. Coach Sigi Schmid has mentioned this a number of times, particularly regarding a forward. Might Javier Saviola be a target? The accomplished Argentine (Barcelona, Real Madrid, River Plate) could be set to join the Sounders in the summer after his contract with Malaga runs up. That's what Juan Cortese of TyC Sports has indicated in Argentina.
