02:45 PM ET 02.18 | The NCAA has fired vice president of enforcement Julie Roe Lach in the wake of improper investigation protocol surrounding the Nevin Shapiro scandal in Miami. Roe Lach was president Mark Emmert's hand-picked choice for the top enforcement position in the association in 2010. However, the investigation of Miami was botched when it turned out the NCAA added one of Shapiro's attorneys to their payroll, amongst other improprieties. After a review revealed that staff members "knowingly circumvented legal advice," and "violated the internal NCAA policy of legal counsel only being retained and monitored by the legal staff," the organization decided Roe Lach needed to go. Lawyer Jonathan Duncan has been named her successor.

How do you ask for advice and then ignore it? Oh, wait a minute, my wife does that all the time. Still, I'd never fire her. ;-)

Julie looks rather mannish. In another life, did she play Pat on SNL?

Enforcement? What's to enforce anymore? Emmert's new rules just made most of the cheating legal.

Emmert's mission is to inflate his ego as much as possible while destroying the NCAA from within.

Guess the NCAA is on double secret probation since they can't lose schollys and be banned from bowl games.
