Oklahoma struggles with depth after three defensive players leave

02:59 PM ET 02.18 | Three defensive players for the Oklahoma Sooners are no longer with the team, per various reports. Defensive tackles Marquis Anderson and Damon Williams as well as cornerback Gary Simon are not on the team any more. It's not clear what caused the change in their status, or when exactly whatever incident happened did happen, but it is known that they won't be returning to the Sooners. Although none of the players had strong seasons in 2012, all were expected to play at spots where the Sooners aren't loaded with depth. And as if that wasn't a big enough issue for Oklahoma up front, they're still without a defensive line coach.

What say you Oklahoma fans?

Is there trouble brewing in Norman for Mr. Stoops?

Sounds to me like there's some "unraveling" going on with this program.

I'm not familiar with OU's recently signed class. Did they comprehend these departures during the recruiting process, or do they now have some available scholarships?

Norman Transcript: defensive back Gary Simon and defensive tackle Marquis Anderson have been kicked off the team.

What ever the problem at OU. Stoops does not try to hide it or cover it up. If he has one or twenty players that need discipline he is not afraid to discipline him as some other programs seem to be.

Not an OU fan but they will probably win the Big 12 again. They own that conference. They've slipped nationally in recent years but rent checks are still being mailed to Norman from other conference members.

They've won it once in the last 4 years.

Most have them projected 4th-5th in '13.

OU wont win it next year. It will be a bad down year. They just lost too much production this year.
