Our gun laws in New York most importantly are 1) unconstitutional, and as such, the United States Supreme court should deem these sentences unconstitutional and reverse each and every one of them, and 2) were not well thought out when legislated by our state legislators when put into law and usurp the second amendment.

That being said, although I don't believe that in each and every case (they happen all the time, and not just by professional athletes) that there is criminal intent involved in these instances. According to our law, intent must be there in order to convict, and in some cases I just don't believe necessarily that this intent is there.

I do however believe that if you are a high profile Athlete, Rapper, Actor, or for that matter, a Celebrity, you simply have to know you can't do this (carry a gun) in New York as we have unconstitutional gun laws in place in our state, particularly the City of New York. You just gotta be smarter than that, or at least hire someone to think for you if you're incapable of thinking legally for yourself.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the reasoning behind our mayor(s) having unconstitutionally implemented these unconstitutional laws in New York City and I do think the intent is proper and well deserved base upon the thousands acts of criminality committed daily in our city, but it does not make it right to have these laws in place, it just makes it unconstitutional. Apple and I'm out.....and OBTW I'm not a gun advocate, I hate guns!

And - most people know (as a result of Plax's situation) gun violations in New York are the most stringent in the country. It isn't like Texas, where the former Cowboys Head Coach got caught (famous quote - "Oh my God!") and was basically slapped on the hand.

If this fool felt it necessary to carry a gun while travelling - he should have rented an RV.

He will spend a year in Jail, they might have raised the minimum to 2 Years!!!!!!Count on this guy spending time in Stripes!!!!

What a moron, he didn't know he packed a loaded pistol in his carry-on? Kinda hard to believe. If he wants to travel with a firearm, unload it and declare it in your checked baggage>>>>absolutely no problem , the few minutes it takes you to do this, saves years in prison.
