The Atlanta Hawks have convinced numerous teams that they're definitely trading [Smith] this week. ... One team close to the situation consulted Monday night predicted that the Nets would ultimately land Smith via a three-way trade. ... Another team pinpointed the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks as the strongest contenders to win the Smith sweepstakes. The big worry for both of those teams, though, is whether they could really risk trading for Smith. ... They've needed a Center for years so Horford can move to PF.

QUOTE(#2):

But the Hawks won't take the Nets offer. More advantage for the Nets to give up Marshon and Mr. Kim. Even if Smith doesn't sign w/ the Nets, they would have still win by getting rid of Hump's overpaid contract.

Very true and if he doesn't resign they can still make a serious play for Dwight Howard in the offseason.

If I were the Hawks, I would too.

They are relegated to a 5th to 6th place East team and will go no where as they are built.

Best off to salary dump or get youth in return and build for down the road.

The sixers would benefit the greatest from a smith trade... Jrue smith bynum(if he ever plays) would work well together and getting rid of BUST Evan turner and Swiss cheese big man hawes for him is a complete steal they would be nuts to not take that offer... I kno he's a free agent but it's well worth the risk the potential for this team would be nuts young athletic just new a superstar for big situations....
