04:28 PM ET 02.19 | Veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez had previously said that he was 95 percent certain that he would call it a career at the conclusion of the season. Now, it appears that there is some momentum building for his return. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff told Pro Football Talk last week that he believed there was a 50-50 chance that Gonzalez would return and ESPN's Ed Werder is passing along the news that an unnamed Falcons source had told him, "I think if the circumstances are right, Tony will come back."

Gonzalez has some unfinished business and he remains healthy, he will back for sure.

If the head office says, "we won't sign you, think about retiring", then the player announces he's considering it. As soon as the team says, "just kidding, here's a sack of NFL bucks" magically, retirement is off the table.

Tony if you plan on coming back, maybe you should find a different boat to get on. Atlanta probably won't even win the NFC South this season and could be hard pressed to make it as a Wild Card.

He thinks he was close and might want another shot but the Falcons are an average team with a poor defense (think Miami in the 90's) but who can turn down all that cash?

Belichick should trade Gronk for Gonzalez and a second round pick. Gronk's going to get injured EVERY year.

Who is advising Gonzalez? Brett Favre?

I haven't been able to confirm this but I heard Tony fired his agent and hired Brett over the weekend when he started having doubts about hanging up his spikes.... :^D
