Mathieu Darche announces his retirement

04:38 PM ET 02.19 | Mathieu Darche officially announced that he was hanging up his skates on Tuesday when he literally posted a picture of him hanging up his skates. Taking to his twitter account, Darche announced that he was retiring from playing professional hockey on Tuesday. Having spent 12 years in the professional ranks, Darche spent the majority of his career bouncing between the American Hockey League and the NHL. Making stops with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning organizations, Darche played in the majority of his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens. In 250 NHL games, Darche recorded 30 goals and 72 points.
