07:29 PM ET 02.19 | One of the worst kept trade secrets in the NBA is that the Chicago Bulls are interested in moving guard Rip Hamilton in order to get back under the luxury tax and avoid having to pay it this season for the first time in the franchise's history. As soon as the Bulls went over the luxury tax this offseason, everyone watching immediately recognized that Rip Hamilton was going to be trade bait at the deadline -- which according to Ken Berger is exactly the case. Berger says that Derrick Rose's apparent reluctance to play this season has the Bulls ready to unload some contracts they might have been willing to hang onto in order to make a championship run. The whole idea of bringing in Rip Hamilton last season was so that he would provide some extra offense and veteran playoff experience.

Lakers need bodies that can shoot from the perimeter and Rip could just be the man.

Lakers need defense....not more slow guards chasing behind players likes: OKC's Westbrook or Clip's Paul or San A's Parker. Hamilton couldn't defend their back ups!!!

lol

And who would they give in return? The Bulls need a player who can create his own shoot, is a great shooter at that, clutch, can drive to the basket. A Kobe/Wade'ish player.
