07:54 AM ET 02.20 | Warren Sapp said he called Detroit GM Martin Mayhew this past summer and warned him that the Lions were in danger of slipping in the 2012 season because Sapp had seen just that after one of his teams followed a surprise playoff appearance with a slump. The good news for Lions fans? Sapp expects the Lions to bounce back this season. "This should be the bounceback year," Sapp said. ... Sapp said that only one person can lead the Lions back to the playoffs: defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. "He has to be the catalyst," Sapp said. "If he is playing, then everybody goes with him. You have no choice." But Sapp continued his criticism of Suh. "I haven't seen the kid getting better," said Sapp, who is an analyst for the NFL Network.

Sapps comments were right on the mark. Suh might not like it but it's the truth, he needs to work harder and get better. He can't just show up and throw his 300+ pounds around, there's other 300 pounders waiting for him.

Ndonkeykong Suh's reputation as a thug isn't going to help him, either.

The fact that he never thinks he's done anything wrong doesn't help.

He's with the wrong team, send him to The Pats or Giants, where the guy can be coached!

What a Country! Someone actually pays Warren Sapp to think about something and then talk. Who woulda thunk it?

As much as I think Sapp is a prick, Suh isn't fit to shine Sapp's shoes.

Nah. They just pay him to talk. Whether or not he thinks isn't part of the deal.

Sure, and then the play ends, everyone lets their guard down and this thug stomps or kicks or slugs them. I agree that it's key to play like you want to kill the opponent while the play is happening, but there used to be this thing called sportsmanship that was considered important. Personally I miss the hell out of it.

No. However a cage match with Suh and Sapp would be epic.
