The real threat to LeBron's throne

08:05 AM ET 02.20 | If the greatest threats are the ones unseen, do LeBron James and the Heat have their eye on Paul George and Indiana? Does King James see Paul George coming? No one else does. On Sunday, the Pacers' 22-year-old, 6-foot-8 swingman made his All-Star Game debut. He was spectacular. ... This three-star recruit who chose Fresno State over Pepperdine has all the necessary ingredients to be the greatest Pacer. Reggie Miller is in the Hall of Fame and led the Pacers to the NBA Finals with 75 percent of George's raw talent. Yeah, maybe I'm dreaming, but I truly believe anything is possible with Paul George, including a playoff upset of the Heat this season.

With rising stars it's always about consistency. Many have come up and faded out. Paul's got so much to prove... can he even maintain that high level of play let alone handle the pressure that comes with success? It's not about PG - it's about the whole team working hard on both ends on the floor... they gotta stay humble and stay hungry.

By the way I am pissed at the fact that Woody is keeping Shump in the line up. That bonehead decision is the beginning of his end in New York. Shump at his best does not messh well with the flow of the offense and defense let alone his lack of physical toughness from the surgery.

I am not feeling the inaction... players like STAT and Brewer should be irked.... this is not going to work. If he doesn't change his stance and put Shump back on the bench Knicks will be rocked in the playoffs and our second half record won't be as good...

Get it together Woody... there's no room for errors in New York. Get shump out of the starting line up or see ya!

The REAL threat to the throne is the BULLS when Rose comes back this week.

QUOTE(#8):

Don't expect much from Rose when he comes back. He won't be the guy he was when he left. That's no knock on him, its just fact. Nobody can come back from what he's had going on and not miss a step.

sounds like wishful thinking on your part... He will be back 100% they wouldn't let him play if he wasn't.

ha , very funny , That is what they were saying of few years ago when everyone was sniffing D.Rose's jockstrap . D.Rose is a solid player but I truly believe due to his style of play and fragile lower body He will be one of those players in and out of the lineup with injuries for the rest of his career .

C'mon! LeBron is still playing and your putting somebody up there already. That's like the Baby Jordan monicker while Jordan was still playing.

Hey! Harold Miner lived up to his Baby Jordan nickname. He won a dunk contest.... and not much beyond that.

I think we need to see how far George can take the pacers before we crown him.
At least Bron Bron took a mediocre cavs team to the finals, as did Dwight Howard with the magic, as did Iverson with the sixers.
Paul has done 2 things, win the dunk contest before and become an all star, you know how many all stars have never even made the finals?
He has a long way to go before even being worthy of carrying Bron's bag to the arena, much less being in the same breathe as him!
I can see Granger being traded though, but as I stated before unless Hibbert grows a pair, averages 15& 15 with 2 blocks per game the pacers are going no where near the finals!

Rose is going to hurt the team chemistry, period.

It will take them until the playoffs, assuming he came back, to get him into REAL basketball shape.

It is not as easy as running out there and hitting shots...he will have to guard people, make cuts and put lots of strain on the leg.

I do not see Rose and the Bulls as ANY kind of threat this season.

Heck, Miami disposed of them in 2010 in 5 games when they were the #1 seed and in Miami's 1st season together...what makes anyone think they will beat Miami now with Miami a better and deeper team and Rose not near the top of his game??
