08:12 AM ET 02.20 | Not surprisingly, Georgia has again become the setting for an Auburn-Alabama recruiting showdown. [The] two programs are already battling it out for one of the state's top defensive tackles, Tucker High School's Elisha Shaw. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman will visit Tuscaloosa this weekend for Alabama's Junior Day after spending his Presidents' Day holiday in Auburn on Monday. "Auburn really moved up my list a lot after that visit," Shaw said. "I get along really well with Coach (Rodney) Garner and Coach (Damyune) Craig and I think that program is on the way up. They just had a great recruiting class especially on defense and I think you'll see them do big things in the next few years."

How good would the 'Dawgs be if they could keep their kids home?

They'd be a championship team, easily. Georgia kids have been really big for us.

If I were him, I'd steer clear of Pangkot Palace. The old evil is back. There may be a new maharajah, but the High Priest Pat Dye is still hanging around.

He should wear Orange & White and contribute to the defeat of UGA & UF throughout his tenure. Verily, he could be a member of the team that ends Bama's win streak.

Its a pretty easy decision .. Do you want a nice house and car with spending money for you and your family in Alabama , or do you want an apartment in Auburn.

I guess he's too late to get in on the Nevin Shapiro handouts, so Miami is out of the equation....

The do get quite a few, but miss on some key ones. It tough competing against a team that has won 3 of 4 championships.

Next question: Why can't Richt keep these kids in state? It's not like they're leaving for USC or Hawaii.

Georgia (the State) is so rich with talent, that UGA can only skim a small protion of the cream. If Georgia high school kids want to play college ball, most of them will have to attend out-of-state schools. UGA, GT, GSU, GSoU, VSU, WGU, MGU... from FBS to DII, there just aren't enough roster spots.

Well, if he's into mugging fellow students or drugs, looks like Tuscaloosa would be to his liking.

Ironically, a lot of students at Auburn live in trailer parks. I kid you not.

Well because ga is a pretty big state surrounded by lots of top football programs and we pull some from out of state as well. It's not like UGA has lacked talent or not taken some away from other teams including Bama (Mitchell comes to mind). This year we lost a few key guys to Bama and ole miss but still got a lot of good ones. Also remember that the south ga kids actually live closer to UF, AU, and FSU than UGA. Thats not to say that they haven't just missed on a few. This year we also lost our recruiting coordinator two weeks bfr signing day who also coached dline so I think that caused us to lose a couple.

Plus you can't argue with success and Bama is on top of the world right now and there really isn't a better recruiter than saban.

But talent level has never been an issue at uga and isn't now either. They recruit Florida pretty well and have pulled good ones from out of state like aj green, stafford, knowshon, theus, to name a few.
