Blackhawks await word on Hossa

08:16 AM ET 02.20 | Wednesday sets up as a significant day in Blackhawks history, which now includes tying the best start to an NHL season ever. But the big night was tempered by the sight of [Marian Hossa] prone, face-down on the ice, after taking a forearm to the back of the head from Vancouver's Jannik Hansen. ... "I saw him after the game, he seemed OK," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said of Hossa. "But we'll know more [Wednesday]." The play immediately conjured up the image of Hossa on the ice after taking an elbow from Phoenix's Raffi Torres during the playoffs last season. Hossa suffered a concussion on that hit and wasn't cleared until mid-November. "That's ugly and very unfortunate," Hawks captain Jonathan Toews said. ... "[We] hope that it's just a minor scare."

Exactly ! That elbow was a complete follow thru blow , in no way was it accidental. When a tool like Hansen can take out a Star like Hossa without Hossa's teammates beating the snot out of Hansen, the Players have a problem.

Exactly, and the tradeoff is supposed to be that goons like this are eradicated from the effing game.
But Hansen will get 4 or 5 games and be back playing before Hossa. Because PROGRESS!

You should have heard the schills on CCCP1 (Canucklehead TV) calling the play.
Folks whine and snivel about play by play and colour guys but there is nobody more objectionable than John Friggin' Garrett.....
He should be take out somewhere and shot. He is beyond belief.

The league wants to administer punishment in these situations.. If the league does not act swiftly and forcefully, I am all for the players taking their own retribution on the ice.
