12:51 PM ET 02.20 | Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen is facing a discplinary hearing with the NHL on Wednesday following his elbow to Marian Hossa's head on Tuesday night. Hossa was down on the ice for several minutes following the hit, which came when both were fighting for a puck in the air, while Hansen was hit with a two-minute minor for roughing. Hansen has stated the contact was incidental and nothing more than a "hockey play."

Expect Sedin as the expert witness to talk of the danger of head blows...

Well, since Shanahan has no clue what he's doing, he'll get off with time served...2 minutes in the sin bin!

Incidental contact? He elbowed Hossa in the back of the head and his stick was in the other hand. Deliberate attempt to injure would be my call and he should get at least 20 games or as long as Hossa is out, whichever is more. Nobody pays high prices to watch goons. NHL should contract some teams (Florida, Columbus, Phoenix...) so the talent level isn't so watered down.

The NBA had Jordan rules, now the NHL will have Hossa rules.

There are apparently a few people who thought it was "incidental," and not intentional. I am not saying I am one of them. The suspense will kill me (sarcasm). All will be known after 3:30 p.m.

If Shanahan has any balls and the NHL is serious about eliminating this kind of stuff, they'll throw the book at him and give him the Raffi Torres code. At least 6 games.

Upon further review, it was deliberate.

I hope Shanahan give Jannik Hansen the triple "S" sentence: Swift, sure and stiff.
