02:41 PM ET 02.20 | Ex-Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young has cleared waivers and is now free to sign with any team that is willing to risk bringing him on board, according to NBC's Pro Football Talk. Young has shown talent but hasn't proven to be mature enough to play anywhere in the NFL for very long. Detroit drafted Young in 2011, and he promptly caught 48 balls for 604 yards as a rookie from Boise State. However, Young was suspended indefinitely after becoming a distraction in Detroit midway through last season and then was released following the final game.

A "thug?" Get a grip. Being insubordinate to a coach doesn't make you a thug. This is just the go-to word for closet racists.

I posted something about this the other day, so sorry for the repeat, but it seems necessary here.
He ran a 4.8 40 while prepping for the draft. An intern read off his time, and Young charged him, threatening to **** him up. He was thrown off the field (literally, if memory serves). This is one example, I realize, but anyone who freaks and goes after someone just for reading a stopwatch is a thug. It has nothing to do with race.

Not a surprise. And when someone eventually picks him up, that won't be a surprise either.

Nope.....too rational of an explination. Add "thug" to the loooooong list of words that cannot be used by anyone of light-skinned persuasion without being deemed a "racist". (I fully expect to now be accused of being racist)

When he's flat broke (probably not a long wait) he may figure out how to shut up and do what the coach says.

During his second year at BSU, he was suspended from the team early in the year for conduct detrimental to the team. Supposedly it was a fight with another team member that led to the suspension. But after sitting that year, he appeared to "get it" and didn't seem to be a problem until he got to Detroit.
