04:10 PM ET 02.20 | Louisville assistant Clint Hurtt has received notice of a 10.1 violation from the NCAA investigation that indicates "unethical conduct". This notice indicates that Hurtt potentially misled the NCAA investigation into the allegations circulating around the University of Miami. Hurtt was accused of providing impermissible benefits to recruits and players while also taking a $5,000 loan. If Miami ends up getting sanctioned, Hurtt might get hit with a show-cause penalty and Louisville could end up getting sanctioned, although it's been reported that he committed no such misconduct while at Louisville.

UL sanctioned? For not doing anything wrong? For hiring a guy who had not marks or NCAA restirctions against him at the time of the hire and has violated no NCAA rules while at UL?

NCAA Enforcement is truly down the rabbit hole on this one...

Heh. Hurtt should send a notice back to the NCAA accusing them of 'unethical conduct'.

If this guy gets a show cause penalty, Louisville will probably have to let him go. No punishment per se for Louisville. It's not like they didn't know there was a chance of this happening when they hired the guy.

NCAA = Mark Emmert (LSU), Donald Remy (LSU) and Jim Isch (Arkansas).

It stands to reason that these 3 people would struggle with the concept of "unethical conduct" and "impermissible benefits." I'm sure it looked entirely normal in the culture from whence they came.

I find it entirely hypocritical that these 3 cronies are going after an assistant at Louisville when there is a much more compelling body of evidence that points in a different direction.

Yes, and don't forget "lack of institutional control". That's the definition of the NCAA under Emmert's watch.
