04:24 PM ET 02.20 | Cam Cameron will receive $600,000 in his first season as offensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers. But over the length of his three year deal, Cameron figures to average over $1.13 million per year, as he'll earn $1.3 million in 2014 and $1.5 million in 2015, which would make him the second highest public paid assistant coach in college football. Cameron trails only Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris, who distanced himself from the rest of the field with a $1,306,500 salary in 2012.

This is what you call "Failing Up." In coaching I like to call it the "Norv Turner Syndrome."
Somehow coaches who haven't shown any particular ability keep finding jobs.
Cameron flunked as HC of Indiana (admittedly, it would be extremely difficult to succeed there). Then he went to the NFL at Miami and failed miserably (I think the 'Fins were 1-15 in his only season). After he got fired as OC in Baltimore (and the Ravens wound up winning the Super Bowl afterward), he lands in Baton Rouge.
