05:13 PM ET 02.20 | The NCAA will sue Gov. Tom Corbett over a Pennsylvania law that would require them to spend the $60 million they'll collect in sanctions from the Penn State scandal in the state of Pennsylvania, calling it "unconstitutional". The suit, unrelated to another suit Corbett filed against the NCAA saying they had no right to fine Penn State the $60 million, says the state has no right to tell a private entity where they can spend their money. The law, which would hold the $60 million in the state treasurer's escrow to spend towards child abuse prevention charities, passed the Pennsylvania House 194-2.

None of this is a laughing matter. Politicians are callously using this situation to appear strong to their constituents (I sood up to the NCAA). Let's fight over the money ( and tie it up in court ) rather than get it to organizations to fight child abuse.

The NCAA did over step with the money an over kill about the lost games and bowls.

It would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for ANYONE to overstep their bounds in punishing Penn State. Truth be told, NO program, not even the ultra-corrupt SMU teams of the 80's, deserves the Death Penalty more than Penn State. Had this happened at a school other than "squeeky clean" Penn State, the NCAA would have BURIED the program.
Screw Penn State, and the idiot governor of Pennsylvania.

The state tax payers paid that money- it should be spent there first- then spread out amongst the cities in which the victims lived. I would go one step further and request am itemized receipt to make sure it didn't go to bowl gifts or NCAA salaries.

Maybe instead of worrying about that 60 million, Penn State could match the 60 million and give it to charities dealing with abused children. Penn State YOU'RE the one at fault here, not the NCAA.

Joe, it's the state government, not the university, that's trying to control where the money is spent.

I really believe Penn St. should appreciate the NCAA for keeping them. Because if I was running an athletic league, I wouldn't want to be associated with this sort of program or have a program that did the things PSU did.
I just finished watching "Katie" from 10 days ago with Sue Paterno and was totally disgusted with the Paternos and the has been washed-up football player that was defending Joe by saying there's nothing Joe could have done. Apparently Katie had a stroke or something and NEVER mentioned that Joe was told, and admitted to being told, by Coach Mcqueary that he SAW Sandusky having sex with a 10 year old boy in the shower, and then did nothing to follow through on eliminating Sandusky from the PSU campus.

Sandy, how do you have access to the original text of your deleted post? Your profile? Or, is it just your photographic memory?
