05:56 AM ET 02.21 | While many are bailing on the idea of Dwight Howard as the future of the Lakers, GM Mitch Kupchak will do no such thing. [Kupchak] reiterated in a radio interview Wednesday that the Lakers have no intention of trading Howard, and the GM sees big things ahead despite his lackluster season so far. "He belongs to have his name on the wall (with a retired jersey) and a statue in front of Staples at some point in time," Kupchak said. "Dwight is our future. Kobe has one more year on his deal (one year after this season). ... This team's window to win is this year and next year." As supportive as that might sound, Howard remained noncommittal about his future plans, saying that the general manager has expressed that sentiment "plenty of times."

It will be the only statue in history that is of a whining baby rolling on the ground.

Statue included? YGBFKM.....
Unless DH does something significant (ala multiple titles) for the Lakers, that would tarnish what the Chick, Magic and Kareem statues represent. Might as well sell them for scrap...

I think Kupchak just misunderstood when Kobe told him that Dwight was going to be "a huge bust".
