06:03 AM ET 02.21 | Even in Austin, times can change. Texas football coach Mack Brown seeks to speed up the Longhorns' pace of play during spring drills, which begin Thursday in Austin. But only the team's tempo is expected to change, not its focus on a physical ground game that is expected to incorporate more carries from quarterback David Ash to complement the efforts of running backs Johnathan Gray, Malcolm Brown and Joe Bergeron. The Longhorns, who will be the first Big 12 team to open spring drills, will cap their spring session with an Orange-White game on March 30 in Austin (6:30 p.m., Longhorn Network). "We want to run a similar offense, but do it from no-huddle and try to keep the same personnel on the field," said Brown.

big thing is the personnel groups. Seems last year, Harsin had 7 plays for 7 different groups, with no overlap.

Twenty degrees with a cold north wind here in Michigan. Spring practice won't start until April.

Thinking about this... hurry-up run-oriented spread option with RBs getting alot of the carries... It could be effective, especially if the sprinkled in pass plays gained big chunks of yards. Can't just go downfield, though. Gotta drag the flanker across the middle and make tacklers miss... bring some RBs out of the backfield.
I wonder how many designed RB plays will include a delay?

I really believe Penn St. should appreciate the NCAA for keeping them. Because if I was running an athletic league, I wouldn't want to be associated with this sort of program or have a program that did the things PSU did.
I just finished watching "Katie" from 10 days ago with Sue Paterno and was totally disgusted with the Paternos and the has been washed-up football player that was defending Joe by saying there's nothing Joe could have done. Apparently Katie had a stroke or something and NEVER mentioned that Joe was told, and admitted to being told, by Coach Mcqueary that he SAW Sandusky having sex with a 10 year old boy in the shower, and then did nothing to follow through on eliminating Sandusky from the PSU campus.

Mack doesn't know what he wants.
He changes his mind year to year.
I thought they started the "hurry up" about 3 years ago and then said "we need to get back to power football" before the 2012 season.
Call me confused . . . and apprehensive of Coach Brown.
