02:27 PM ET 02.21 | It's hard to believe that something could come out at this point in the offseason to make Calvin Johnson's record season look even better, but that's exactly what has happened. The Detroit News reports that the Detroit Lions wide receiver played with multiple broken fingers during the 2012 season, and he managed to break Jerry Rice's single-season receiving record despite dealing with the injury. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz was asked about Johnson's health on Thursday at the NFL Combine, and he declined to confirm the story. He also didn't deny it, though.

Oh brother....what is it with these guys. Like Peterson saying he rushed for all his yards with another injury so they can further brighten thier shinny "look at what I did and could have done" star. Peterson has become a self-promoting Chad Johnson (without the stupid stuff)...hope Calvin doesn't follow suit here. Come on people....players play hurt all the time! Especially WR's with broken fingers! Shut up, collect your paycheck and move on!

I'll be slightly more impressed when Calvin breaks any of Jerry's career records (especially SB records). Of course Calvin is being fed the ball in garbage or trailing time when they have to pass....and with pass friendly NFL rules.
