05:49 AM ET 02.22 | Josh Freeman, your spot with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is safe. Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano made waves after the season when he suggested his 25-year-old starting quarterback would face competition under center next season. Asked at the time if he was "all-in" on Freeman, Schiano simply said, "I'm not side-stepping you, but I need to evaluate." Two months later -- and with the game film reviewed -- Schiano was more definitive. "Josh Freeman is our quarterback," Schiano told reporters Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine. "And I believe that Josh Freeman -- with Josh Freeman -- we'll be able to accomplish our goals."

Freeman will be gone after this year unless he learns to stop throwing multiple picks every other game.
He's only saying that because his contract is up after the season!

27 TD : 17 INT last year isn't a bad ratio.

Instead of trying to get lucky drafting or trading for the "perfect" QB, how about Schiano hiring very good QB coaches and teaching the QBs they currently have? That's how the position used to work, now they just throw them on the field and then wonder why they crash and burn.
