Jets leave door open for trading Darrelle Revis

06:18 AM ET 02.22 | While the Jets still aren't ruling out a trade of Darrelle Revis, a survey of executives at the NFL scouting combine indicates getting fair value -- much less a franchise-changing haul -- could prove difficult. Rex Ryan and new general manager John Idzik went to great lengths yesterday to downplay widespread reports of their interest in dealing the disgruntled All-Pro cornerback, with Ryan going so far as to say those reports were "inaccurate" and have "no validity." But given multiple chances to declare Revis off the market, neither Ryan nor Idzik would declare him untouchable and both left the Jets with plenty of wiggle room to proclaim their innocence should a trade eventually be made.

Any suggested trade assumes that other teams would value Revis highly. Remember, this guy has a whopping salary, is coming off IR from an ACL injury and seems to be less of an impact player every year.
If he's worth what the Jets would like to think in trade, then why not keep him? A good defense that keeps the score down is critical for a team that counts Mark Sanchez among its assets.

They might get a 2nd round pick for him.

The Jets are so screwed. They have Tebow who is so bad no team will trade for him, and Revis who is so highly valued they'll never get what they think they should for him.

Get rid of him, and he might pull a Peyton Manning-style comeback. But at least you could get something in return.

The Jets should get rid of Rex Ryan and promote Tebow to head coach. That guy is a great motivator.

As long as you have that coach, you could have the best players and still come up short.

+1, His high price and hold outs should make any GM think twice, throw in rehabbing from a torn ACL, and his market value is really down at this point.

Think before you post.
Tebow is of little to zero concern for Idzik. He's a cut casualty waiting to happen.
