Victor Oladipo's high school coach corrects Bruce Pearl

07:50 AM ET 02.22 | Bruce Pearl, the former Tennessee basketball coach, went on Pardon The Interruption to discuss college hoops Thursday. No problems so far! But then hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon brought up Indiana's Victor Oladipo, who was coming off an impressive performance against Michigan State. That's when Pearl's retelling of Oladipo's high school career made every D.C. high school hoops junkie shake his head: "This guy didn't start at DeMatha High School as a senior. He couldn't shoot. He couldn't dribble. He was a 6-3 power forward that Tom Crean took a chance on four years ago." But Oladipo actually did start at DeMatha as a senior. He could shoot and dribble just fine, earning first-team All-Met honors. Local high school guru Josh Barr profiled Oladipo back then. The headline: "Victor Oladipo has had an incredible career." DeMatha Coach Mike Jones took to Twitter to help set things straight about his former player: 2 things: Oladipo was a 1st team All-Met his sr year at DeMatha. That is a very prestigious honor. Please stop acting like he was awful.

I read one of the reasons he got popped by the NCAA at Tenn was having recruits to a barbecue at his house and then lying about it. Then a recruit showed a picture of them together at said barbecue.
