The clock has finally struck midnight on Griffin (Ga.) defensive lineman Toby Jackson's recruiting bachelor party. Four days after completing an unexpected visit to Southern Cal, Jackson said Thursday evening he is set to walk to the college football altar on Wednesday and sign with Georgia. "I'm still good with Georgia," Jackson said. "I told [assistant] coach [Rodney] Garner before I went out there that I'm still pretty solid with Georgia. "I told him it would take a lot for USC to take me away from Georgia. Coach [Mark] Richt doesn't have anything to worry about." Jackson admitted that he was caught off guard when Southern Cal coach Pete Carroll phoned him last week and invited him to Los Angeles.

any kid who actually wants to live in and play for Georgia should do so

February 1, 2008  10:55 AM ET

I am a lifetime USC fan, former student and current supporter and I live in Atlanta. If the kid is a UGA guy, he would not be happy anywhere else, including my USC.

SHOW ME THE MONEY

February 1, 2008  12:30 PM ET

Damn, he should come to USC... but I think you go where you are most comfortable at.

February 1, 2008  12:40 PM ET

The kid should stay home.

February 1, 2008  12:57 PM ET

who the hell would want to live in Georgia....have u been there....
ne ways he doesn't have what it takes to deal with competition....

February 1, 2008  12:58 PM ET

it's good to see the USC fans being so civil.

i think usc waited too long; that and his family is in ga.

February 1, 2008  01:03 PM ET

who wants to live in Calf.??? mudslides, earthquakes,ill-legal aliens everywhere, gangs, San Fransicko, HollyWeird...makes Georgia look like heaven. Of course we already knew that.

February 1, 2008  01:20 PM ET

Most 18 year olds should stay close to home. His family, friends, and community will be uplifted getting to SEE him play every week. USC has a huge talent pool in the SoCal area to choose from.

As for where I would want to live. Lets talk in August, that is if you can hear me over your AC and dehumidifier. Palm trees and bikinis is where its at, that and all the pretty Southern girls getting off the bus to be "a star"....

February 1, 2008  01:21 PM ET

should play for a team he feels comfortable with, coaches he's comfortable with, and a place where he'll get the most playing time. Both teams are gonna be tough for the next few years. It's not like he's choosing between Southern Cal and Air Force.. Comfort should be #1

February 1, 2008  01:46 PM ET

either school would be a good choice, but if he feels more comfortable close to home then that's where he should be.
GA is an awesome place to live.......thanks to the two posters above for making me remember that and to not take it for granted. :-)
BR549.....would you trade a sunny, beautiful 60 degree day on Feb 1st for any of what you mentioned in your post? i certainly wouldn't......

February 1, 2008  03:38 PM ET

Georgia born and Georgia bred and when I die, I'll be Georgia dead...

February 1, 2008  03:39 PM ET

February 1, 2008  03:41 PM ET

There's a song by Rufus & Chaka Khan titled "Hollywood". Come west Jackson, you won't be disappointed.

February 1, 2008  03:47 PM ET

February 1, 2008  03:49 PM ET

And Hank Jr. has a song..If Heaven Aint A Lot Like Dixie...

February 1, 2008  03:53 PM ET

I'm not going to comment on the natural disasters you mentioned BR, 'cause if you knew any better, then you wouldn't have mentioned that. As far as Hollywood's concerned, folks from around can't wait to get here. Ask any person (not from Georgia) where they'd go, if they had a choice between Hollywood & Atlanta. Don't hate BR, appreciate, especially if you're planning on seeing a movie this weekend. PEACE

Oh they can wait I promise you. You have no desire to come to the south. I can respect that. But I'll tell you this. The south is not full of possum easting, barefoot, idiots like yall think. And I have NO desire to go anywhere near Calf. Like I said..yall stay over on the west coast, and we will stay in the south..no problems, everyone's happy.
