03:33 PM ET 02.22 | The New Orleans Saints will let the guy in charge of protecting Drew Brees walk this summer: they won't franchise Jermon Bushrod this offseason, meaning the left tackle will become an unrestricted free agent this year.

Bushrod, 28, has been to the past two Pro Bowls after the team's 2009 Super Bowl championship. He's played his entire career with the Saints since being drafted in the fourth round in 2007, starting since an injury to Jammal Brown in 2009.

The Saints could look to draft a left tackle in an NFL Draft full of them, while Bushrod will certainly get a payday on the free agent market.
