03:54 PM ET 02.22 | It appears incoming Eagles coach Chip Kelly isn't too big a fan of Nnamdi Asomugha.

When asked about the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback, Kelly gave an extremely vague answer: "I think Nnamdi has a skill set (pause) that can play football."

That doesn't really mean anything, except that Asomugha's days in Philadelphia may be numbered. Formerly considered one of the best cornerbacks in the league, Asomugha was part of the "Dream Team" assembled in Philadelphia for the 2011 season, and played decently, reeling in three picks. But in 2012, the Eagles' pass defense was pretty awful, especially after defensive coordinator Juan Castillo was replaced with secondary coach Todd Bowles. The team sputtered to a 4-12 finish, and Kelly has made it clear he intends on changing a lot of things in Philadelphia.

I think they gave up on the idea of trading him even before the Kelly comment. I think they will bite the bullet for one more year to see if Asomugha's season was an aberration.

Maybe the Chip Kelly pause was to stifle a burp.

Andy must have left some scraps on the Eagles' buffet table.
