04:10 PM ET 02.22 | Taiwan Jones could switch sides of the ball for the Oakland Raiders: the running back is going to have a shot to prove his worth as a cornerback next season.

Reggie McKenzie, the Raiders' GM, says he's hoping Jones can make the transition to cornerback, a spot the Raiders are weak. Oakland allowed 28.8 points per game last year, 28th in the league.

Jones came to college at Eastern Washington as a cornerback, and was projected to play the position in the pros before the 2011 NFL Draft. He hasn't made a whole lot of impact at running back, carrying the ball just 22 times in two seasons.

I always thought CB's are wide receivers that cannot catch the ball. Maybe he could sneak some stick'em on his hands ala Lester.
