04:27 PM ET 02.22 | Former Detroit Lions second round pick Titus Young is at a crossroads of his football career after being released by the St. Louis Rams this month and clearing waivers. But the man who drafted him, general manager Martin Mayhew, is reaching out to help the troubled wide receiver. "I want to help him deal with his problems, whatever they are," Mayhew said at the NFL Combine on Friday.

Mayhew has a degree in psychiatry? That's the kind of help Young needs.

What did this guy do that was so terrible!

February 22, 2013  05:16 PM ET

He refused to run the plays that were called. He did his own thing, when he was beach he throw a fit and wanted fight with other players and coachs. This young man needs help he is becomeing a major promble to himself and others. The Rams try to talk him and the team doctors told the Rams to drop him now.

Lined up in the wrong formation on purpose to screw his own team, got cut for being a headcase by the Rams less than a week after being picked up, etc. (the list goes on). He was a headcase in college too from what I've read so he did already have a track record.

The help this dude needs begins with a swift kick in the **** and the message that the world doesn't revolve around him and his immature selfish attitude.

Getting all that across could be over reaching. Maybe just stick to option 1

That would also apply to a lot more of these so called professional athletes.

Hey, Martin Mayhew: That's presumptuous an condescending as hell. What if Titus doesn't want or need your help, and for what?

Exactly...'til he hits bottom, and reaches out ( If he reaches out ) there's no helping this guy. Not going to be a lot of sympathy for him, with his track record.

Uummmm. Weren't you the guy that drafted him? If you mattered to him and wanted to help, why didn't you do something while Titus was still on the team?

Have him work at a used car lot for Mr Ford, once he does that, he will listen to his coach and love playing football!!!!
