05:46 PM ET 02.22 | It wasn't long after the Philadelphia Flyers' Thursday game against the Florida Panthers that it was announced center Matt Read would miss approximately six weeks with a torn ribs muscle. Read was initially injured during the Flyers' 6-5 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. There is always a chance that Read could miss more time with the injury, but the early diagnosis is six weeks.

To what purpose? Don't see anybody crazy enough in the NHL to touch him with a ten foot pole for fear of injuring him. Unless ... the Isles plan to buy him out.

Unbelievably, DiPietro only 'played' in 47 games in the last four years! And still has 8 years left on his contract! Beautiful! He's the gift that keeps on giving.

He'll soon be on a bus to the AHL.....

DiPietro's only claim to fame is that crazy Mike Milbury traded Luongo away so he could draft him 1st overall! Beautiful! Just beautiful!

Rib injurys can take forever to heal, almost can't even lay on that side at night.

What good will he do in the AHL? He'll get hurt boarding the bus!

Then DiPietro must've hurt his ribs the day he signed that 15 year contract. He must've been laughing so hard he cracked a few of them.

Sorry, shiprock. You were talking about Reed's ribs. And I was still on the DiPietro comedy. I got carried away a little bit.
