Mark Cuban: Kobe Bryant amnesty comment was 'hypothetical'

09:16 AM ET 02.23 | Mark Cuban said Friday night that he was speaking hypothetically when he said the Los Angeles Lakers might consider a drastic move like using their amnesty provision on Kobe Bryant. Cuban's comments were not well-received in Los Angeles, as the Lakers issued a statement saying that they felt Cuban's comments were inappropriate. "I said it hypothetically," Cuban said after the Mavericks' win at New Orleans. "I didn't say they were going to. I just used it as a hypothetical." Cuban also used that word -- hypothetically -- in the original interview. He called any uproar in LA "a tempest in a teapot."

If lakers miss playoffs this is a possibility.Unless they can restructure his contract which I'm not sure would be allowed. Dwight might have final say in this!!Can tell lakers either amnesty Kobe or I'm going to Dallas!! Kobe's fate could be in Dwight's hands!! Ha ha

The Lakers would never use "their amnesty provision on Kobe Bryant"!!! Kobe will retire a Laker and his jersey will hang from the rafters like many other great Lakers!!!

QUOTE(#4):

I don't know exactly what you Lakers homers and fans are angry about. Mark Cuban is absolutely and 100% right with his hypothetical analogy of Kobe's contract and the ramifications of what it does to the Lakers. First Kobe is old and has lost many steps and he is still inherently consumed with self absorbed egotistical self. I mean any reasonable ownership and gm should at the very least consider such a move, particularly if Howard elect to walk after this season. It then becomes rebuilding time and Kobe's 30 mil, if relieved off, certainly represents some well deserved cap space in order to rebuild. Look, the Lakers may not even win a ring with Howard as it seems. They most certainly won't with just an old Kobe and a few misfits. This idea by Cuban is certainly fair. Lakers homers and fans get a grip will ya, Kobe's **** is done so face it, father time doesn't just take a hike...........Apple and I'm out, so shutty!

Kobe is not done,he scored 40 last night, we all have to agree though that 30 mill is just way to much for him at this point.

ThisCuban made an offhand comment that some on here have even said and it got blown out of proportion.People need to learn what the media is up to and stop biting on all of their trolls. They use stuff like this to get you engaged but there really is no story here.

Isn't he agreeing with what Cuban said?? What's getting blown out of proportion?

He?Not sure what you are asking me...My reference was to something Cuban said and the media turning it into a story.

You said THIS to comment you quoted, I don't see anywhere in that comment that said anything about media blowing this out of proportion , that's all
