11:15 AM ET 02.23 | USC Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley is looking to impress NFL scouts at the scouting combine, despite deciding not to throw during the on-field drills. Without the on-field workouts, the interview process, medicals and measurements became even more valuable for Barkley and he aced the first test when he was measured upon arrival at Lucas Oil Stadium. Barkley measured taller than expected and came in at 6-foot-2 1/2. That number means that Barkley is actually slightly taller than West Virginia signal-caller Geno Smith. The number should erase any questions about Barkley's size. Another win for Barkley was his hand size, which always interests scouts because of how it translates to being able to hang on to and control the ball. Barkley had some of the biggest hands at Indianapolis at 10 1/8 inches.

He also wears a size 10 shoe instead of 9 1/2. Seriously can't you guys keep this serious stuff straight?

Not the worst story ever, but it's an honorable mention at least.

I heard he has two arms. It was erroneously reported originally that he only had 1.

It's not going to matter. Without an arm it's unlikely anybody will take you soon.

Yes, but they're both non-throwing arms

I just don't understand why they expanded to a dozen threads per day in the off-season. But even then you'd think they could find more interesting stuff. Interns, please... There's much more interesting football news to be had, even now.

Barkley's talent was compromised because of a coach who's in way over his head. Wonder what stunts he has planned for the 2013 season?
