12:57 PM ET 02.23 | Unlikely to draft a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick, the Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams expected to be most interested in San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith, according to a report from Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. The 49ers are yet to begin seriously shopping Smith, but as many suspected and according to Cole's report, San Francisco is unlikely to keep Smith into next season. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh said the team is "unlikely" to release Smith, making a trade this offseason a high likelihood. The Chiefs, however, may not be the only interested team as the Arizona Cardinals are also suspected to be interested in Smith. If the 49ers trade Smith, it's unknown if they would be willing to trade him to a division rival. Kansas City could provide a more attractive trade partner for San Francisco as the 49ers would be able to deal Smith out of the NFC.

If the niners let Smith go to the Cards, the Cards better understand that all the fears about Smith are true.

I would think you could add the Browns & Vikings to the list of interested teams. The 49ers could really cash in with players and or draft picks here.
