01:38 PM ET 02.23 | Josh Freeman's agents will meet with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to discuss the quarterback's future, according to Pro Football Talk. The agents hope to "clear the air on Freeman's long-term status", whatever that may mean. Freeman has a new group of agents to replace the retired Ken Kremer of CAA. He is now represented by Jeff Nalley and Erik Brukhardt of Select Sports Group, while his father Ron Freeman also represents him in some form. It seems unlikely a new contract will arise out of these talks. Earlier reports suggested the Bucs will let Freeman play out his contract before discussing an extension, owing to Freeman's inconsistent play both throughout his career and during last season. Freeman at times looked like an elite quarterback, and yet at other times struggled with accuracy and turnovers. The Bucs will use the 2013 season to further evaluate the still-young signal caller and determine whether his long-term future lies in Tampa. This season at least, Freeman is the Bucs' quarterback.
